A first-class fundraising event
The YWAM base in Colorado Springs hosts an annual multi-day fundraising weekend to meet with their donors, celebrate success, and share their vision to minister to the unreached people in the “10/40 Window.” The missions organization is funded largely through donations, so the fundraising event materials were crucial to the nonprofit’s ability to grow in the coming years.
Revamping the event identity
For the overall event identity of President’s Weekend, we were challenged to develop a look was appealed to the donors and stayed true to the young, fresh look of the ministry. In the event’s early years, Kettle Fire developed an event identity with a more mature look in dark blue with touches of gold and rust red. Then we shifted the look to a younger style with line art that played off the base’s location near Pikes Peak.
In 2022, we revamped the event yet again to this modern, angular approach that plays off the ministry’s brand colors and the signature triangle in their logo. Playful layered shapes or converging lines were used to draw attention and highlight key details throughout the collateral. The rich visual identity leaves room to adapt the look for several years before the event will need to rebrand again.
Event invitation
We produced striking Z-fold printed invitations featuring the luxurious accommodations and well-known keynote speaker. The line graphics and angles add cohesion and highlight the call to action. We created email invitation templates so board members could invite guests directly.
Fundraising materials
At the event, an extensive program booklet illustrated YWAM’s mission and vision for the future. Engaging spreads share stats about the base, quotes from missionaries in the field, and countries of focus, as well as the event itinerary.
Standup banners feature the base’s three core values: Call, Equip, Impact. These were intentionally designed with content that could be used year after year. The partnership menu evolved from one sheet to a high-impact booklet. It features goals for different campus programs and ways donors can support the ministry. Additional fundraising event materials included a save the date postcard, a presentation template, and pledge form and envelope.
The President’s Weekend fundraising events have been a great success, bringing in more than $1 million to the faith-based ministry.
