With a staff made up of largely of volunteers, YWAM Colorado Springs felt its identity wasn’t being represented consistently due a lack of brand standards. This led to a complete rebrand including a logo refresh, new web design, and updated brand collateral.

New logo + visual identity

The missions organization called Kettle Fire initially to consult on their brand foundations. After working with the communications team and analyzing market research, we helped the team determine a logo refresh would help them better reach their target audience.

We reworked the previous logo—refining the type, creating hierarchy in the long name, and updating the colors to be more modern and aligned with the ministry’s Colorado location. Since he desire for cohesive visual standards was the impetus for the whole project, we developed a thorough style guide including direction on colors, fonts, photography, and graphic elements.

Rebrand collateral + website

After launching the new visual identity, YWAM asked us to strategically redesign key pieces of their collateral. They also wanted a head-to-toe renovation of their website design. Both print and digital materials needed to be redesigned to target males ages 18-30 and present the new brand with fidelity.

For the website, we storyboarded the user experience for the entire site, taking into account the many types of users and the information they would be seeking. Then we created a web style guide and full-color mockups of each page, building in the new brand elements. The web design was implemented by a third-party web developer.

For recruiting events, we created a live the story banner and brochure that feel aspirational, conveying wonder and adventure, while delivering pertinent information. We also created a collection of rack cards and banners to represent each program offered at the Colorado Springs campus. Each one contains unique information but the collection is cohesive as a whole. Stickers will raise brand awareness among the target audience and help cement the new brand with the staff.
